Physical Therapy is only for injuries- MYTH

Physical therapy can help your body recover from physical injuries, however, there is much more a physical therapist can help treat.  Some skills CMI’s physical therapist works on with patients are:  

  • Balance Disorders / Gait Training 

  • Fall Prevention / Safety Strengthening to Upper, Lower and Trunk  

  • Community Integration Training  

  • Joint Mobility / ROM (Range of Motion) Improvements  

  • Pain Management 

If I am unable to do vigorous activities, I am unable to participate in physical therapy- MYTH

Physical therapy can focus on small motor movements allowing a patient to work at their current skill level.  

Physical therapy is offered at CMI Monday through Friday 8am-5pm- FACT

Communicare Michigan launched our in-house physical therapy department at our Troy location. CMI’s physical therapist, Rob Parent, has over 20 years of experience.  

You must be in pain to go to physical therapy- MYTH

A client can have a multitude of symptoms not including pain that a physical therapist can help resolve.
